Myrtle Beach '08 a homerun for the Broken Spoke Saloon
posted on June 3rd, 2008
I've never had so many compliments from our loyal customers. Everyone loved the Spoke at Myrtle Beach Spring Rally 2008! Guys raved about our smokin' hot servers - actually, even the women riders did, too! These Spoke girls were not only hot, but non-stop entertainers - all the while pulling double shifts. As the owner, I am indebted to them for touching the customers with that sweet spirited fun.

With one of the best sound men in the business, the 40,000-watt PA system delivered a phenomenal concert experience to all. "Hell's Bells" kicked ass! Big House Pete was a pleasant surprise and all the bands kept the World's Largest Biker Bar an experience second to none! Tyler Fire & Thrill Kill Jill were a totally unexpected treat with their "Lucky Daredevil Thrill Show", Coney Island tradition at the Spoke. Be sure to check 'em out at the Broken Spoke Campground in Strugis. After daytime activities, and when the last bands closed, it was time to hit the big red barn for male pole dancing, Lucky Daredevil Thrill Show, wet t-shirt contests, orgasm contests and don't forget popsicle licking. And in between the contests our girls were shredding it up on the poles! Good, clean, sexy, fun for all!

With the passing of Samantha Morgan from the Wall of Death, we were all heavy hearted. Jay Lightning rode the Wall daily even with having returned from weeks of radiation & chemotherapy from throat cancer. He is one of the toughest men I will ever know. Sam's departure seems to have untied all wall members! They were kind enough to let me log some wall time on the go-cart. Harry Bastard sent a DVD with images of Samantha and Arlo Guthrie singing, "I don't want a pickle, I just want to ride my motorcycle" in the background. Charlie had some killer footage of Sam, Indian Larry & me, among many others. After airing these films to a couple of thousand Spokers, the tears flowed like water. We've gotta do something big in Sturgis for Samantha. The "Wall of Death" will never be the same.

Two of the biggest things that can kill a rally are the police and the weather. Horry County Cops were cool and Myrtle dodged storms several times. Kendall & Zach Johnson and their clan hung their hats at the Spoke -- it was nice to hang with an old friend. I was also honored with a visit from Mondo. He's jacked with excitement about a new product he's promoting with Kuryakyn! He looks great and you couldn't meet a classier man.

I could not close without acknowledging all Spoke staff, the Porto John people and everyone else that contributed to what was probably the finest Broken Spoke Myrtle Rally ever. If you weren't there, you missed a good one. It's still not too late to Spoke it at Ohio Bikeweek, Laconia, NH, S&S Cycle's 50th Anniversary, Sturgis and maybe the 105th year celebration of Harley-Davidson in Milwaukee, WI. I'll keep ya' posted!

Until next time ...

Keep the Shiny Side Up and the Rubber Side Down!
