Q. What are the dates for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for 2008?
A. The official dates of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for 2008 are August 4th through 10th. Although the "official" dates of the rally always fall on the first full-week of August, many riders come the week or weekend before the official Monday start to avoid the crowds and have ample travel time to get back home be the end of the week.
Q. What are the dates the Broken Spoke Campground is going to be open?
A. The Broken Spoke Campground will be open from noon on Tuesday, July 29th through Sunday, August 10th.
Q. How far are you away from the city of Sturgis?
A. The Broken Spoke Campground is located at the northeast base of Bear Butte State Park, on highway 79, approximately 15 miles from the city of Sturgis. The Broken Spoke Campground is located in "East Sturgis" next to top rally venues including; Glencoe CampResort, Thunder Road, Rock'n the Rally, Buffalo Chip Campground and Full Throttle Saloon.
Q. Do you have daily or weekly rates?
A. No, we do not have daily or weekly rates. Due to the large volume of campers, the Broken Spoke Campground offers a flat thirteen-day rate good from July 29th through August 10th no matter how long, or how short you stay in between those dates.
Q. Can I have visitors to my campsite?
A. Yes, absolutely. Visitors to the Broken Spoke Campground will be required to pay an entrance fee of $10 and provide their drivers license as a deposit to assure that they are not staying overnight.
Q. Can I reserve a specific RV site?
A. Requests can be given to reserve a specific RV site, but not guaranteed.
Q. Can I reserve a specific camping site?
A. No. The general camping area at the Broken Spoke Campground is open acreage meaning general camping "sites" are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Campers simply go find a spot they like in our open acreage and set up there.
Q. What can I put on my RV site?
A. The RV sites at the Broken Spoke Campground are 30 feet wide by 100 feet long, pull-through sites. Campers may put anything inside their site such as motorcycles, trailers, tents etc. as long as you do not extend past your allotted space.
Q. What can I put on my camping site?
A. As mentioned earlier, the general camping area at the Broken Spoke Campground is open acreage. There is plenty of room for your motorcycles, vehicles, tents and trailers.
Q. Can I have a campfire or bonfire?
Meade County has passed an "open burning" ordinance, which prohibits campers to have campfires or bonfires at the Broken Spoke Campground. Campers are permitted to use stoves, lanterns, charcoal and gas BBQ's.
Q. Can I bring my pet?
A. Yes, pets are allowed at the Broken Spoke Campground. Please be mindful of your neighbors and keep your camping area free from doggie droppings. We suggest your bring a current rabies and vaccination records with your pet.
Q. Can I bring my children?
A. Although there is no formal rule against brining your children, please keep in mind that this is an adult-oriented event. The Broken Spoke Campground strongly recommends that you do not bring children under the age of 18.
